SPECIAL PROJECTS
Once
in a while we find ourselves involved in a project that is special. Our
most special project involved a firehouse located at Ground Zero.
Engine 10/Ladder 10 ("Tenhouse") stood across the street from the Twin
Towers and was severely damaged when the towers fell on September 11,
2001. The house lost five firefighters that day along with a
former Captain. We felt a need to give something back to the men
and women of the FDNY who ran into the towers when everyone else was
running out. We decided to install a new HVAC system in this firehouse
at no cost to the FDNY. We couldn't bring back any lives that were lost
that terrible day, but it was the least we could do to honor them.
